The Ultimate Guide to Noninvasive Body Contouring Treatments

noninvasive body contouring

You've probably heard of noninvasive body contouring, but do you know what it entails? Nonsurgical body contouring treatments are trending heavily in the health & beauty industry, and we perform some of the most popular methods every day at A Body Vibe Body Contouring Spa. Keep reading to find out what these treatments are, and more.

What is body contouring?

Body contouring is a term that refers to minimally or noninvasive procedures that help to reduce stubborn, unwanted fat, tighten the skin, and improve the overall shape of the area. These treatments can also assist in reduce cellulite, lifting the buttocks, and shaping the midsection and waist.

How does body contouring work?

Each body contouring treatment works differently, depending on which one you are using and what you are trying to treat. Some treatments will help to build collagen and tighten the skin, while others will help to reduce subcutaneous fat, resulting in lost inches. Others, like wood therapy requires no machine, and can sculpt the silhouette simply by using wooden tools.

Depending on what your goals and concerns are, is how your body contouring specialist will help you decide which treatments will work best for you. Your starting point and end goal will determine how many sessions you might need, as well as your current lifestyle habits.

Noninvasive body contouring treatments rely on the individual to do some work, in order for the body to break down the toxins and fluids. The contents of the fat cells we are breaking down are being eliminated through the lymphatic system, which will require the body to be healthy and functioning properly. A consultation must be done prior to any treatments to insure the client does not have any health contraindications to any of the modalities.

Does body contouring have any side effects?

Noninvasive body contouring is generally safe, however there are a few side effects that are possible with these treatments. Some possible some side effects may include redness, tenderness, and nausea which can be combatted by drinking the recommended amount of water throughout the process.

However, keep in mind that these treatments are overall much safer and less risky than a surgical procedure, with no recovery period.

Who is the ideal candidate for body contouring?

While everyone responds differently to noninvasive treatments and will have different goals in mind when starting their journey, nonsurgical body contouring treatments are best suited for those who are already practicing healthy lifestyle habits, or who are ready to adapt to an overall healthier lifestyle.

This includes staying active with at least 20-30 minutes of cardio a day, drinking approximately 3-4 liters of water daily, and eating a healthy, balanced diet.

What are the top Noninvasive Body Contouring Treatments?

There are many types of noninvasive body contouring treatments that are popular here in the Tampa, Florida area. However, we do believe that we offer the most effective nonsurgical treatments with the best results.

These treatments are:

  • Ultrasonic Cavitation

  • Radio Frequency

  • Laser Lipo

  • Vacuum Therapy

  • Wood Therapy

  • Virtual Mesotherapy

Ultrasonic Cavitation

Ultrasonic cavitation is your fat reduction treatment. It uses low-frequency acoustic soundwaves to help break down the fat cells by causing the cells to vibrate. The cells cannot withstand these vibrations, so in turn, they end up 'bursting' and releasing the contents of the fat cells into the body where it travels through the lymphatic system, and then eventually to the liver and kidneys to be broken down, and then excreted through the body.

Radio Frequency

Radio frequency, commonly referred to as "RF", is a skin tightening treatment that uses energy waves to heat the deep layers of the skin known as the dermis, stimulating the production of fibroblasts, which play a role in the production of collagen and elastin. This treatment can be used on both the face and the body, resulting in tighter, firmer skin, that boosts collagen production and gives immediate results.

Laser Lipo

Laser lipo aka low-level-light therapy, is a noninvasive method of body contouring that helps to either tighten the skin, or remove small fat deposits. It is able to shrink fat cells by poking holes in the cell membranes, where it releases the contents. Instead of destroying or removing the fat cells like in regular liposuction, laser lipo simply makes them more lean and efficient. There are no side effects to this treatment, and it is an effective treatment to help decrease bloating, swelling and any inflammation.

Vacuum Therapy

Vacuum therapy is also similar to 'cupping therapy', and is used in body contouring for multiple purposes. Not only does it help to move all the fluids towards the lymph nodes after a body contouring session, but when equipped with RF and low-level-light therapy, it can also help to further tighten the skin and help with the reduction of cellulite. Vacuum therapy has also become very popular in creating effective butt lifting results, as it helps to increase circulation, lifts and raises the buttocks, and tightens and firms the glute muscles. Each 30 minute session is equivalent to 1200-1500 squats.

Wood Therapy

Wood therapy is the most holistic form of body contouring there is. Originating in the Orient centuries ago, the tools were then redesigned in Colombia in the late 80's/early 90's so that they could contour and sculpt the body. These tools resemble rolling pins and cups that help to break down stubborn fat, reduce cellulite, and is considered one of the most effective ways to tighten the skin and contour the midsection.

Virtual Mesotherapy

Virtual mesotherapy is not a term you will hear all that often, as this is a treatment that is mainly used in Europe and has been for over 50 years. Traditional mesotherapy requires a needle that helps to penetrate various serums into the body for different purposes. However, with 'virtual' mesotherapy, we are able to transport serums into the cells via electroporation that allows us to permeate these infusions 200x's deeper into the skin than using traditional needles. These serums can be used to reduce cellulite, dissolve fat, tighten the skin, and even plump the buttocks, creating a great alternative to a surgical butt augmentation.
